'A stiletto knife in a velvet case.'

Sherlockian. Whovian. Whedonite. Neil Gaiman...ite.
There's no escaping the fact that this is very much a Benedict Cumberbatch appreciation blog. That bastard. There's also that Time Lord fellow. And then there's Firefly - ship like her, be with you 'til the day you die.

I like shiny things.
Kash.

Just started watching Blackout

Christopher Eccleston is magnificent in it. Also, beautifully filmed and directed.

But how on earth does Andrew Scott manage to be so endearing and creepy at the same time?!?!

He’s a terrifying jealous ex and you want to run away but also want to cuddle him?!

HOW?!

HOW ARE YOU SO CREEPILY ENDEARING?!

edit to add: waiting for him to Moriarty out any second now.

Also, the Demoys house is unreal.

omg the writing in this:

‘I’m a sorry excuse for a local politician. There’s a reason for that: I’m weak, I’m selfish, I’m a coward. You know what, I believe you. I could win this election. This country’s probably stupid enough to let that happen. They’d vote for the bloke on the TV. Today’s blue-eyed boy. Like someone off some talent show, all fireworks and flashing lights. Yeah, I could be mayor. But it’d be just another marketing trick. Let’s con the public into buying something empty and useless. And I won’t do that.’

Huge congratulations to Andrew Scott for winning Best Supporting Actor - it was always going to be either him or Martin Freeman, and I’d be happy with either. But Andrew Scott’s speech was utterly adorable and humble and he was so sweet.

Always knew we weren’t going to to get the audience award, and knew when Appropriate Adult kept getting awards that Dominic West would win best actor (I’d have preferred BC to lost to Joe Gilgun, but hey ho) but hugely disappointed that Benedict didn’t win :( I mean, seriously, Bafta, wtf is wrong with you. He should’ve won last year, and even more so this year.

But you only have to hear the response of the audience, the ridiculous amount of cheers and screams both Sherlock and Benedict got whenever they were mentioned, so there’s no love lost at all and they all know that.

Highlight of the night though - Benedict Cumberbatch AND Matt Smith giving the Special Bafta award to Steven Moffat! WHOLOCK! We got actual proper Wholock! They were brilliant! And Steven Moffat being the biggest fanboy of them all - not just quoting ACD twice to both Mark Gatiss and Sue Vertue, but getting all gleeful and fanboying over getting an award from Doctor Who AND Sherlock Holmes! Bless that man and everything he’s done for both shows.

So, mixed feelings, sad that Benedict didn’t win, but still a great night of appreciation for Sherlock and The Moff. :)
